More stippling!!

Took out this table runner I made a few years back. I never got to quilt it so this is a good chance to do it with the Juki! More stippling!! Practice makes perfect!! LOL
A couple of days ago, I ordered a folding table for my Swiftquilter. I decided on a folding table because my sewing room always end up as the second guest room! The table should come by tomorrow or early next week! Can't wait to set up the Swiftquilter!!

The missing picture!!!
I was so excited to write on my blog today and show you what I did! Unfortunately, when I clicked on the picture icon, I get an 'error on page' message! I don't know why!! I can't download the picture. Sorry about it!! So I am just going to ramble on for a bit! This is the first time for me to blog without a picture to show!! Well, as you know, this is also the first time I am 'officially' stippling a quilt! It is a queen size quilt so I am going to get a lot of practice on it! When I first started stippling, I was a bit nervous but I told myself that I have to start sometime and it actually get easier as time goes on! The only problem I find myself getting into is uneven stitches. That is the reason why I bought the stipple control with my machine. The stipple control will regulate even stitches but I have to wait till I set up the frame and try it!! The speed of the Juki is really fast which is why it is good for machine quilting! A world of difference from my trusty Janome!! Oh.. about the needles for this Juki...only HL needles can be used! There is a warning sign on the machine about it. The throat for the Juki is also wider than the normal domestic sewing machine. And I like the separate spool of thread for the bobbin!!! LOL

This is the state of my sewing room in the morning! I had all the parts of the Swiftquilter out on the floor. But when I tried to put them together....I found out that my table is too short for it!!! Now I need to buy a new table!!! LOL So I decided to play around with the Juki before it is permanently on the frame. I put all the parts to one corner of my sewing room........ actually just pushed them to one side of the room! Put the Juki on the table, pulled out a UFO from the cupboard and started stippling away!! My first time doing stippling! I think I've got it! LOL

Juki TL-98P

Took out my Juki today! I wanted to get a feel of it before I set it up with the Swiftquilter. This machine is mainly used for heavy duty stitching like quilting. It comes with #16 needles only. I got to read up on the manual to see if I can use the other needles like #11 and so forth! There are no function for decorative stitches so my Janome will still come in handy! I plan to use the Juki just for quilting so I will leave it permanently on the quilting frame! I might try to set up the Swiftequilter as soon as I get more comfortable with the Juki!!

Sunbonnet SueTote Bag

Made this tote bag for a friend. I haven't seen her since we finished our Form 5. This year, my sister and I decided to organise a small reunion dinner with our classmates. For info, my sister and I are twins but we are from different classes. So the get-together is a time to catch up and have FUN! I wish I have more time to make more of this to give away!

This is my BIG secret!!! Luke bought me a quilting frame and a sewing machine! It works like a longarm but definitely much, much cheaper! It's called the Swiftquilter. This is the 'Extra' package. It comes with an extension...I can extend the bars to accomodate a 108'' quilt. I can actually use my Janome but I didn't want to keep removing it when I want to do some sewing! I want to leave it permanently on the quilting frame. As of this moment, I haven't taken them out of the packaging yet! Need to rearrange my sewing room and mayb get another sewing table!! LOL

All done! Used the same orange fabric for the binding. Thinking of making a single size quilt top with this pattern!
Will see how it goes! LOL
