Christmas Placemats

 Found some panels I bought a while back. Decided to make placemats out of them.

Chose some fabrics from my Christmas stash… came up with these colors…

After piecing the blocks.. I thought it looked a bit plain so I made some cutlery pockets that looked like presents to attached on the side. 

Made 6 pockets… I had to quilt on the blocks before attaching the pockets and binding it.

Tulips and Anemones

 Hello everyone! Yes, it's me again. I know, I know — I keep disappearing and coming back. But what can I say? Life gets busy, but the needle and thread always pull me back eventually! 😄

I wanted to share something special today — my *Tulips N Anemones* quilt. If you've been following this blog from the early days, you might remember when I first shared it —and that I worked on as a "while waiting" project, and later piecing it together. It's a floral appliqué quilt with a centre bouquet tied with a cascading red bow, surrounded by hearts, tulips, and bell flowers on curling vines. The entire cream background is crosshatch quilted by machine, finished off with a floral print border in warm golds, reds, pinks, and greens.

This quilt taught me patience — more patience than I ever thought I had! But looking at it now, every stitch was worth it!!

And after 15 years, this quilt has finally found its forever home — I gave it away as a *wedding gift*! There's something truly special about giving a handmade quilt to a couple starting their life together. Every stitch carries a blessing, and I hope this quilt will keep them warm for many years to come. The look on their faces when they unfolded it was priceless — that's the best reward any quilter can ask for! 🥰

Candlewicking is what I am doing at the moment...This is one of the sixteen blocks.  So far I have managed to complete four blocks ..doing the fifth one now.  

 

I'm back!!!

 I haven’t been blogging …OMG … for almost 4 years!!!!!  It’s not that I stop doing patchwork but I think when I stopped using my laptop I just got too lazy to blog!!! This year’s resolution… blog more!!!!  

I just started hand embroidery… very simple pattern. I’m only using colonial knot and stem stitch.  It’s going to be a king size quilt made up of 16 blocks. So far, I’ve done 4 blocks. I’m into  the fifth block. I hope to finish this project by middle of the year. In between, I know I will be also doing other project. 

I’m using my hp so am not sure if I know how to add pictures 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😅😅😅

More pictures of the placemats and table runner.   Tried to set up part of it to show off the setting.  It does turn out quite nice..

I quilted the yellow blocks with a round feather pattern and then finished up the quilting with an even foot for straight line stitching.
