Small Half Moon purses

I was looking through so many pictures of small little purses especially the ones with the Japanese appliqué..  so decided to try my hand in it...but at the end after quilting and making the purse, I was too lazy to add any appliqué!!  I drew the templates..I made two sizes..just to see how it look and which size I like the best!!!  I also made a round purse..  For this project, there is a fair amount of handwork involved like stitching the binding, zipper and the side of the purse ( I blanket stitched the sides).

Made a couple more friends...the pink one is for my cousin... the one who 'inspired' me to make the owls!! hahaha  Made the red for my sister...

Made this as a birthday present for Noria...  Bought the flower and sewed it on..  Added a bit of cuteness into the owl!!!

I stuffed the owl with cotton and also added a lot of stone pebbles for the weight.  As it is a door stopper, it has to be heavy.  I supposed you can also fill it up with beans instead of cotton and pebbles... whatever fancy you!!!

My cousin and I were on holiday and we came upon a shop selling some owl door stoppers.  She wanted to get one but the price was a bit too much.  I told her I'll make her one when I get home.  So when I came home, I searched the internet for some owl patterns and found this really cute one!!

The finished quilt!!  This is Jenny's 50th birthday quilt!!!  I didn't do a lot of quilting on it..  just quilted around the stars and the border.  I like how the solid blue star stand out in the quilt.  You can't really see the printed blue star... :-(  But the blue/white combination is always a win when making a quilt!!!

Wow!  My last posting was in March!!! Time just went by in a flash!!!  I have actually completed this quilt already!!!  So many excuses why I haven't been blogging....my pc kaput! lost all photos that I have taken in it..my mistake I didn't save them in the hard disk :-(  ...

Back to this quilt,  I added the same light blue print for the  border...
