Another long break from blogging!!  I am almost done with this piece!!  I am so caught up with other projects that I put this on hold!

Sorted out all the strips...separating the light and dark colours.  There are more light colour strips than dark.  Hope the won't be a problem when I join all the strips together.

My sister went to Bali and bought me a jelly roll... I have never used one myself so it was really exciting to see what I can make out of it.  With the technology we have today and also the many generous people who shared their work online(big 'thank you'), I found a pattern I really like!

Finished quilted this little wall hanging.  Took me a bit of time with the circle feather but it turned out not too bad!!

For the kaleidoscope block, I have decided to do a circle feather quilting design.  I actually quilted the in between red print triangles with just some simple lines.

A little quilting work

This is a small Japanese kaleidoscope hanging quilt.  My sister sent it to me for quilting.  I was playing around with some designs for the border and decided to do a simple border design as the centrepiece are 12 kaleidoscope blocks.

Decided to make some rosaries for my hubby and myself since I have so many little pouches!!

Made more than a hundred of these pouches for a church charity sale.  Hope people will buy them!!!

Triangle zipper pouches

These triangle zipper pouches are fun and easy to make!!  All the work can be done on the sewing machine.  No hand stitching needed....  'happiness' :-)

Round purses

Made round purses as well.  Sewed two round pieces together n also a zipper in between.  Same work done on the round purses....handstitched the binding, Zipper and blanket stitched the two round pieces.

Small Half Moon purses

I was looking through so many pictures of small little purses especially the ones with the Japanese appliqué..  so decided to try my hand in it...but at the end after quilting and making the purse, I was too lazy to add any appliqué!!  I drew the templates..I made two sizes..just to see how it look and which size I like the best!!!  I also made a round purse..  For this project, there is a fair amount of handwork involved like stitching the binding, zipper and the side of the purse ( I blanket stitched the sides).

Made a couple more friends...the pink one is for my cousin... the one who 'inspired' me to make the owls!! hahaha  Made the red for my sister...

Made this as a birthday present for Noria...  Bought the flower and sewed it on..  Added a bit of cuteness into the owl!!!

I stuffed the owl with cotton and also added a lot of stone pebbles for the weight.  As it is a door stopper, it has to be heavy.  I supposed you can also fill it up with beans instead of cotton and pebbles... whatever fancy you!!!

My cousin and I were on holiday and we came upon a shop selling some owl door stoppers.  She wanted to get one but the price was a bit too much.  I told her I'll make her one when I get home.  So when I came home, I searched the internet for some owl patterns and found this really cute one!!

The finished quilt!!  This is Jenny's 50th birthday quilt!!!  I didn't do a lot of quilting on it..  just quilted around the stars and the border.  I like how the solid blue star stand out in the quilt.  You can't really see the printed blue star... :-(  But the blue/white combination is always a win when making a quilt!!!

Wow!  My last posting was in March!!! Time just went by in a flash!!!  I have actually completed this quilt already!!!  So many excuses why I haven't been blogging....my pc kaput! lost all photos that I have taken in it..my mistake I didn't save them in the hard disk :-(  ...

Back to this quilt,  I added the same light blue print for the  border...

This is the pattern she chose..so I stitched all the blocks together.  The solid dark blue print shows more of the star pattern.  But the printed light blue doesn't show the star as much.  I think solid colors would be better for this pattern.

I gave Jenny two choices so since it is her quilt, I  will let her make the decision!!

I quilted feathers around the border and ditch quilted the main blocks.  In the process of quilting this quilt, I had a little mishap!!!  My finger somehow got caught in the foot and the needle broke and half of it went right through my pointer finger!!!  Major oucccchhhhh!!  Hubby panicked and took me to the doctor and insisted I get a jab for tetanus!!!! Owwwwwwhhh!!!!

As this is a panel, I just quilted around the pattern.  I don't have many ideas on the quilting design...just made up whatever come into my mind!!!  I used a quilting stencil on the border only.

After all the quilting is done, I poked holes on the quilt where the tree is...  I know I can imagine your reaction when I said...I poked holes in the quilt!! hhahahahahha  Added lights .... n viola.....a quilt with lights!

Christmas tree panel

I found this christmas panel in the cupboard among all the bits and pieces of fabrics that I have 'hoarded' over the years!!  Decided to try and make something out of it!!  Took out the quilting stencil.....

This is the completed table runner.  It is a bit too long for my 6 seater dining table but it will have to do for now!!

As you can see, I only quilted around the stars.  I did not quilt on the the triangle ends.  Maybe before this coming Christmas 2017, I'll try to put in more quilting on the runner.  :-)

I haven't post anything since my last blog in November..  Been busy with my nephew's wedding and a short holiday break to the UK :-)
I have, however, made a couple of holiday projects.  One is this table runner.  It's a quick and easy project if you want to dress your table top!!  I chose all the christmassy colors!
