Regina's bag

I just saw the date on my last posting!! Time just flew by!! I have been busy with some applique work and also with the Swiftquilter. I am still working on the quilt but I had to dismantle the frame yesterday. The quilt is almost done though! Easter weekend coming up and I have some quests staying over. My friend, Regina, bought this brown printed fabric and asked me to make a tote for her. Took me a few days to make it because I ran out of the brown thread and had to wait a few days before I went into town to buy some!

Tote Bags

I took a break from quilting and made two tote bags. These are made from sarong batik fabric. One bag is quilted and the other is not. I used the same batik fabric for the quilted bag interior. I used a heavier or rather a much thicker fabric for the other bag. This is to give the bag some shape!
In between quilting and making the tote bags, I am also working on some applique work! Remember the 'Tulips N Anemones' applique? Well, work is still in progress!!! LOL

I had to extend the Swiftquilter for this queen size quilt. This is how it works. The first bar on the right holds the three layers together. The middle bar is for the quilt top and the third bar is for the backing. The batting goes in between the quilt top and the backing. I am still playing with the quilting designs. But with the frame is it so much easier to move around the quilt. I just have to adjust the roller bars!!

Big block quilt - Ohio Star

This is a queen size quilt I made more than 8 yrs ago.... LOL Never got round to quilting it so today I extended the Swiftquilter, took apart the layers and fixed it on the frame!! I will try to machine quilt it tomorrow! Just thinking of the space I can have in my cupboard if I can get rid of all the UFOs in there!!! WOOHOO

Check out my Rm200 folding table!! Not bad! The Swiftquilter sits nicely on it!! I ordered another table but this time slightly smaller..4ft for the Janome machine. I can also use it when I want to extend the Swiftquilter to fit a king size quilt. So far I have not tried the extension yet!! I still can't make a nice circle with the machine on the frame!! Need a lot more practice!! I am also trying to figure out which thread to use for machine quilting. I welcome any suggestions...Oh and where to get them...online if possible!! LOL
