I spent the whole morning sewing the quilt top together! After trimming off the edges, the final measurement is 85.5 in. I couldnt decide on the border fabric so I thought I'll leave it for a while. Might have to shop around for the border fabric because the fabric I had in mind just doesnt compliment the quilt. I need to add a frame probably about 2.5 in and then a 6.5 in border. I like the border that size because it is nice to quilt a pattern around it.

Can't help much with ideas for the border. I tend to stick with using the same colours from the quilt itself when I can't find an appropriate matching fabric - something simple but often safe.

Yes, you are right. Using the same fabric is a good idea. Unfortunately, I dont have enough matching fabric for the border but maybe just enough for the 2.5in frame. LOL
